There are no lodges within the Udzungwa National Park, so the only inside lodging option is camping. However, there are a few other small campgrounds that allow overnight stays inside the park, and lodges/hotels outside the park are also taken into consideration for lodging.
Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp.
Locally known as “Hondo Hondo,” which translates to “Horn Bill” in Swahili, Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp is the appropriate lodging option in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. This camping option is a good, reachable, and standard lodging bordering the Udzungwa Mountains National Park, in the Kilombero valley in southern Tanzania, and is situated in the lush green grounds close to the park’s administrative center. The traditional bandas at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp consist of five traditional bandas and six tented rooms. The bandas are typically used by backpackers.
